I'm looking at maybe selling my Raleigh SDC as it's not being used (currently in the loft!) but I've no idea of it's true value - any opinions please? Thanks :)

If it's as near perfect as it looks in the pictures I'd ask for £1000...well £995 :)

Trying to scrape some cash together for a summer holiday so thinking of selling my Giant Cadex CFR-3 (1995) frameset. Lovely deep purple colour, Time carbon 1" threadless forks and Campagnolo Chorus headset and seat post. The frame has had hardly any use and been stored since 1996 according to the guy I bought it off.

Was going to be a winter project but built a steel Basso instead with the components I had set aside for it. This one has to go, just not sure what to ask as its a bit unusual. Will get some pics up later.

Edit: Just found its the same frame as the CFR-3 in this link to the Cadex catalogue on this site: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/d/10847-2/Giant_Cadex.pdf?g2_GALLERYSID=7b379b74f92ec1756f96c56660980242

That is a difficult one. Retro bonded carbon does not have the widespread appeal of retro steel but still has a following. Ball park I'd say £150.

Always wondered what this might be worth, its a Klein Quantum 93 in Sunrise I believe. Campag Centaur 2008 10 speed group and Ksyrium Elites. Decided not to go the NOS route for components, not sure if that was the right decision in hindsight. Also not 100% sure it's the original paintwork and don't know how to be sure either way. Any ideas??

Bit newer than what I deal with but stunning bikes of superb quality and always fetch good money. I think the frame carries the modern components well.

Wheels are worth a fair bit as is the frame. I'd estimate it's value at about £700 - £750 adding up the sum of the parts.

FSA Team Issue crankset
10 speed Carbon Record Brake/ergos

I'd be aiming towards £750 - £850'ish. A very fine build indeed.

I’m having a clear out and I want to sell of these two. I know nothing about the first bike recently pick up and I done nothing with it, the chromes very pitted and there is some paint loss on the lower forks and it needs a dame good clean but it all works a treat.
Is the seat from a Raleigh grifter?

Image

And then with a very heavy hart my much loved 85 Raleigh Record Sprint it a small size and will come with the a gold cassette and the tool to take then off as well as some amber wall tyres ( If I can find them), and period seat. It has a few scratches on the paint and the brake leavers but when was the last time you saw one in this size and condition. It going to hard to part with but need must so how much?

a few more pictures of both bike here:

Top one £50'ish

The Record Sprint with the period parts (please replace the seatpost for a Laprade or similar too) and I reckon it such fine condition you should be able to get £200'ish for it.

2005 I think, don`t known alot about these bikes.

Been offered it at £950, bike has little wear.

Cheers

Mark

Sorry Mark I can't help you with the value of this. It's an untidy example needs tidying, a few adjustments to get it aesthetically right. As it is now he will struggle to get full asking in my perhaps naive opinion. Get some averages from eBay and haggle away.

Unbranded frames always difficult to value but generally less than if it was positively identified. I quite like the build and would put a value of about £200 on it.

£60 - £100 depending upon how good a condition and where you're selling them.

Hi Guys,
got a raliegh flyer 50cm frame all very very original some decal scrapes but nothing crazy.
New tyres Claud butler explorers, may need the crank bearing changed (if thats what its called) though not a big job.

Selle san marco seat( may not be origanal , but deffo of the era)

Its the late 80's version (white frame with blue yellow and red decals that fade with small dots) , just a little to small for me : ( almost sad to see it go but my bike collection is becoming untenable as I am finding bikes everywhere.

The saddle is not of the era, exposed rails weren't really common place back then, the Flite saddle was the first I recall seeing cut away (thats not say there were not others, obviously old Brooks type saddles had exposed rails). It's not a great bike but looks to be very clean. You may see 100 nostalgic pounds from someone.

My bike is a lovingly created replica of Fignon's 1989 Super U TdF ride. She is a Dynatech 600, 2060 Reynolds tubing, and was complete with full period correct C Record Delta groupset - 28 hole BSC threaded hubs, 3 pivot Delta brakes with white bellows and wheel guides, Powergrade levers with white hoods, 27.2mm aero seat pin, band-on front mech, second generation rear mech, BSC threaded headset, BSC threaded 111mm bottom bracket, 175mm crankset, correct pearl-white cable outers for both brakes and rear mech. Other kit is Simplex Retrofriction shifters, Selle Italia Turbo black leather saddle with WCS stripes, 6 speed SunTour Winner Pro freewheel, ITM black 135mm stem (possibly bent in the headtube), Raleigh-branded ITM handlebars, first generation TIME Titan Magnesium Pro Equipe pedals, Specialites TA alloy bottle cages, Benotto tricolour handlebar tape, Wolber aero Profil 20mm tub rims, Schwalbe Milano tubs.

A friend has suggested about £2,000 to put such a bike together again - I would guess that she has cost me about £1,500, and could go through my eBay history to confirm this - what do you think I should be claiming for from the insurance company?

I can't load a picture for some reason, I'll try to add one tomorrow

Damn! I am sorry to hear about your accident! Glad you survived and making a recovery.

Reading through your spec list yes I think it would cost circa £1500 - £2000 to rebuild the bike again.

My business (Stallion Cycles Ltd) specialises in used, quality racing bikes. I've never offered a valuation for insurance purposes before but if you think I can be of help send me a pm and I'll do whatever I can.
