Seat post size, try a forum search, either here or on lfgss.com.

27.2 seatpost means reynolds 531 or columbus SL/SLX, ie worth quite a bit more than hi tensile. If yours is high tensile it might only be worth 100-120 around. There should be plenty of charts around there, this is quite a frequent problem.

yeah seatpost 27,2 mm and the sellers believes that flanders used reyonlds tubing (however I have no basis for this and can't really find anything online)

Basing it as 531 tubing we still taking about the 160mark?

You might well be able to get more like 180 with those good nick mavic rims, and the dura ace rear mech. It depends where you're advertising it to be honest.

Hi all,

New to this forum! I'm just looking for my first road bike and I thought I'd get a vintage one as I prefer the look and the cost :D

Could anyone just help price up these, to see if they are worth what they cost.

Many thanks!

Raleigh Record Sprint 1984

Has a 501 frame, no other info on it. The seller says that it could use a little bit of servicing but brakes and gears work ok. Going for £100

Hi,
I am fairly new on here but have been into road bikes since I did some time trials in the late 70's while stilll at school.
Recently got into mountain biking so this project frame might be up for sale.
It is 531 Competition tubing and dates to approx 1990-92.
I am not up to date with prices so how do you all value this please?

Fantastic quality as you would expect from a Dave Russell frame and it has recently been refinished in this silver by Ellis Briggs in Shipley and the decals are from LLoyds but the 531 Competition decals I think are originals. This is definately competition tuber as it was in its original paint when I bought it.
Very short wheelbase with no mudguard stay eyes.

Any advice welcomed.

Thanks
Dean.

Hi,
Thats what I was hoping to be advised.

If I said about £150 would I be far off the mark?

It is now on ebay with no reserve at 99p!!! Dont think I would let it go for less than figure above though.
Any advice welcomed and if I am far off the mark please let me know.

Thanks
Dean.

get some pics of the actual frame?

Ok so there are more photo's here: http://imageshack.us/g/694/dscf3846o.jpg/

Please ignore all the components, they were just swapped straight over from a low spec Giant TCR. If you look at the close up of the top tube you can see some corrosion starting by the looks of it. It is also different to the link I posted previously in that there are no braze ons for down tube shifters and the drop outs are different.

Anyone got an idea? One way or another it's gonna be for sale on here soon anyway.
