Hi Smugpug. In answer to your question, yes it has 531 forks. Good luck with the refurb :)

Nice one! Thanks!
Actually, it has been completed and I am very pleased with it. I wish I had not needed to get it resprayed, but the paintwork was tatty.
Sadly, it is no longer authentic in many ways - new wheels and a new cassette means that it goes well though :D

Never ridden aluminium or carbon bikes so I hope that it was worth it. I have faith in 531 :D

Hi what do you think my friends Eddy Mercx is worth? Only things not original are pedals, chain and the gear system because it was seized, but he used the same deraulier, just a newer one.

Thanks.

That Eddy Merckx is a cheap Coventry Eagle 'Eddy' replica from the 70s rather than one from the man himself. I'm afraid they have no real intrinsic value, much the same as a base level Raleigh of that era.

How much do you think it's worth? He doesn't want to ask for a price and it's too high you see. :)

I would appreciate a quote from anybody with the knowledge on the Eddy Merckx on the previous page, my friend won't be offended by the price you give.

Thanks. :)

I think in Holland it would be a typical 50-100 euro bike. Normally lower, but it deserves a 20 euro premium for the paint.
