Hi All,

I have a Raleigh Randonneur that I bought new in 1990 for £495. I still have all the original documentation, manuals, brochures etc.
It has the Reynolds 531ST tubing with the spare spokes on the chainstay. It has the Shimano Deore gears etc and Shimano 105 hubs with the Mavic rims. It still has the original Brooks Professional honey coloured saddle and the original Blackburn panniers on front and rear.
The only non original item are the handlebars which were Sakae but are now Phillippe, and obvious consumables such as chain, tyres. It also has a Carradice canvas saddlebag. It has a ‘computer’ but I still have the original Avocet 30 computer I bought when I got the bike.
The bike is in excellent condition but just never ridden now so I think it will, sadly, have to go.
Do any of you learned gentlemen know what the realistic value of this bike might be today ?

Hello, I recall seeing one a couple of years ago ‘in the flesh’ but it wasn’t so original, was missing the saddle for one. Was under £100.
Looking on eBay completed auctions, top money seems £320 (with eBay fees that’s probably £280). Many more go for £150-£220.
Hope that helps.
Whereabouts are you?

Hi.
Thanks for your comments.
I'm located in South Worcestershire. The bike currently has clipless pedals but I also have the original pedals which are in excellent condition.
I'd be interested in other valuations. Although eBay has a wide audience I'd rather sell it through a forum group.

It would also depend on condition I suppose as much as anything else. As even if they are all original they could be virtually like new or it could have sat in the backyard uncovered for the last 5 years and there would be a difference in price :)
I have seen a few the last couple of years and am always interested to see as I like my tourers and my ballpark would be for a rough but complete might be the £120/140 and a good clean example about £250/300, pristine would be around £400 if not more.
Lovely frames.

Jamie

Hi. I have had this bike from new in 1983. Used to be well used and looked after, but now rather rejected in my garage. It's a Coventry Eagle Clements Dominion and I think the frame size is 20.5"
I'm adding plenty of photos. The first is of the bike when it was new in 1983. the following photos are of the bike now, warts and all.
Does this bike have any value or is it time to take it to the tip? Thanks for your help.

Sadly, £50 maximum is probably about right, though it’s great to have that original picture. The front and rear racks might be useful (on this bike or another) especially if you’re in a student town perhaps.
The pedals have been replaced. If the current ones say ‘campagnolo’ anywhere on them then they have a value; difficult to tell from these photos.

Don’t take it to the tip..... either put it up for sale here if you want someone to give it another life or strip it and sell the parts on e-bay if you want to make more than £50 (the rear mech is worth at least £20 for example)

Thanks. I think I might put it for sale on here then. Don't really have the time to strip it and clean everything up to sell components. Perhaps someone else can make a few quid out of it.

Don't think the pedals are special. They have Miche on them.
