Can get my hands on this. I want it to donate some some parts and move the remains on. The remains will be the frame (actually the most unique part of the bike, I know ) and possibly the wheelset.

Would classic track bike afficiados and London hipsters be willing to pay for frame and wheels?

In fact at the right price (and the right size) I'd want it myself!

London and Paris hipsters would tear your arm off. Any track frame is saleable just now, and the lack of a front brake drilling doesn't change that much. Likewise the wheels will easily find a buyer. You might get 200 euros for the frame, 100 for the wheels.

Thanks for your input Got my hands on it and immediately grabbed the oppertunity to do a few blocks with it. It is a fun bike. Its new owner will die happy.

with aero bladed spokes (the ones that didn't require the hubs to be slotted)

with some fancy clement criterium seta colle main tubs (inner tubes perished, but otherwise in good nick. Tread is perfect, and the silk casings are still nice and supple)

All with less than one sesons use (but unfortunately have been stored for 20 years and it shows!)

Best of all, they have history - they were built by 1928 Olympic Silver medallist, Jack Lauterwasser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Lauterwasser)


I got these to use the rims for building some nice cross wheels, but I was thinking that they might have enough value as retro items to be worth selling and buying some more modern rims for cross!

I recently found these in my garage which I used to use in the early 90s on my Pearson road bike.

Any idea if there's a market for them, and if so, how much would they be worth?

There appears to be not a lot of call for aero bars, they go on e-bay for about £10-£15 at the top end down to £0.99p, for a retro pair. I picked up a set for £1.50 a few weeks ago.

My mate showed me this the other day and asked what it's worth. A Raleigh record with no idea of date - he just said he'd had it ages!

Seems like with a bit of TLC it's be a nice roadie. Tons of pics and can measure if anyone gets excited and decides to buy it! lol

It's massive though. I'm 5'10" and I can't get on it!
