What campagnolo groupset would you suggest?

Experts of retrobike,
I have acquired this colnago and it’s in dire need of a restoration.

First off, what year and model do you think it is? I’m guessing late 80s super based on my amateur googling.
Secondly, based on whatever model/year it’s from, what would be the most appropriate campy groupset and acceptable other options (e.g. cheaper or easier to find)
I’m kinda taken by victory... but don’t want to go that route if it’s blasphemous.
Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on a great find AND for doing the right thing and dressing it in Campag and not with fishing tackle. It's surprising what a good clean and polish will do!

I'd agree that Triomphe / Victory is still available for sensible prices. C-Record is beautiful but prices are getting silly. I also like the unique Triomphe / Victory flat shift levers. Ofmega, CLB or Modolo levers and brakes also look dead right - there was much more choice then and people were happy to mix and match much more than today.

Re:

Nice. Does look like late 80s Super to me, with a Superconfex/Kwantum team inspired paint job. Victory/Triomphe would be good, and no blasphemy in my eyes. Maybe Chorus? C Record and CDA seem to go for silly prices. Some Ambrosio rims, or Campag Omega?

Re:

Oh yes. I had graphite on my first Super in 93. Coupled with last generation Super Record brakes, which I much preferred (and still do) to the monoplaners.

Be a heretic - Suntour Superbe on an Italian frame!
On serious note - the graphite chorus

Re:

Also aesthetically, do you think a black or silver stem would look best? Guess it depends on bartape colour too - so many decisions...
