Peugeot HLE premiere 12 speed - rear hub spacing?

Hi guys,

I have a HLE premiere with modern-ish (and fairly ugly) wheels fitted on it.
It's a 6-speed model and the rear hub is wider than that of my other Peugeot (a 103 carbolite model). With the wheel in I measure the rear spacing at 130mm, but the wheel needs some convincing in order to slot in the dropouts.
Do you know if the HLE was manufactured with the rear hub at 130mm, or maybe this frame has been cold set from 126mm to 130mm?

Thanks

It's probably 126mm but a 130mm wheel will go in as it's not much of a stretch. If it shifts ok, I wouldn't worry about it.

Check on the wheel though - it might have some additional spacers on the axle to take it out to 130mm. You might be able to take 2mm off each side.

Thank you both.
I will definitely check. The reason I ask if because I'm debating whether to sell the bike - I already have a vintage Peugeot, with more history than this one - or to keep it and fit modern components to it.

With a 130mm rear spacing would be easy, with 126 a bit less so.
