Carbon - is it worth it?

Hi,

i am thinking about weight reducing on my KLEIN Stage Comp and have a few question regarding carbon items:

- is there any good 1" carbon fork on the market, that you can recommend?
- which ones are good and reliable carbon wheels (and maybe affordable)?
- any recommendations on carbon seatposts?

Affordable carbon wheels aren't happening yet.

Buy a Thomson Masterpiece instead. It's lighter and stronger than anything else.

Carbon wheels also have appalling braking characteristics. I'd go for Mavic Open Pro rims which are light enough but not at the expense of usability.

Also carbon wheels have an appalling ability to fold in half when in contact with labradors and/or grass verges if the TDF coverage is any indication.
