Hi

I'm trying to identify what model of Peugeot this is. I've acquired it from my father in law who sadly died a few weeks ago :-(

It's 12-speed, no model identification sticker/decal anywhere on the frame. Bottom bracket is stamped with the number B4 C5 63980. From my Google searching I thought it might be a Ventoux but somehow I doubt it.

I've attached a pic of the bike along with the number stamped on the bottom bracket.

Any help or pointers appreciated!

TIA

It could be an 86 Bretange. But it doesn't have enough gears, maybe a Normandie or a PGN10, I think it's mid 80s. Now I've pointed you in the right direction(hopefully) have a Google and see what you can find out.
HTH.

I had a Bretange a few years ago that looked similar (same colour and chrome forks) except it had cantilever brakes and I don't recall it being 501 tubing.

Some good resources here:

http://www.peugeotshow.com/

Judging on graphics I'm guessing it's between 1986 - 1989.

What tubing is it (sticker on frame and forks). 531?

What components does it have fitted?

Very useful, bookmarked those.

Looks like a 501 sticker on the forks

Try this link:

From the serial number assume it's from 1984, and the only 501 I could find from that year in the UK catalogue was this.

Good luck.
