Hi,
I am new to this forum, but when I was younger I was into bikes.
I 'restored' a bike that I acquired FOC from a school pal, and took it to Uni in Scotland ....( a long time ago !)
At that time, it was in fact blue, but I had the frame stripped and then rustproofed by my Uncle, who worked on oil rig construction engineering, so it was given the same rust treatment as they gave the steel going into the rigs.
It seems to have lasted quite well !
I learned from the bike shop that I used to get the parts for all those years ago that my bike was a Dawes Double Blue, and it still has the original badge intact.
Once I figure out how to post photos I shall try to get a few posted on here !
I am posting this because my brother, who took over the bike about 20 years ago, needs the space so I am wondering the best way to advertise it : I am an avid user of ebay, but perhaps this forum may be more suitable !
I fully understand that it will only be the basic frame that may be of interest to classic bike folk.
I used to be into classic cars and have done all sorts of work on an old Lotus Elan, but I am not well informed regarding bikes !
Any advice is most welcome !
