Skewer advice please

On both my geared and singlespeed steel frames with horizontal dropouts, i keep pulling the wheel across, usually climbing or from a low speed start (overgeared at times).

Back in "the day", everything was campag, and never had this problem.
For the record i'm using mavic skewers (ksyrium steel and ti versions) as tight as they'll go before bending.

What do people use these days on the old frames - is it campag or are there serrated versions available ?

Both frames are colnago's with chromed dropouts.

Thanks in anticipation.

Use the old-style Campag skewers and you'll have no probs, as you already know.

Modern lightweight QRs have a different design and are only suitable for vertical dropouts.

A good few fixed hubs (mine included) seem to come with wheel nuts. I wmoder what Mr Hoy uses? The probably have to weld them in!

Fiks - thanks.

Is the skewer length different on a 126 hub versus a 130 hub, or are they the same (i'm running 130) ?

Thanks again.

may be an axle length thing? If you can't tighten the QRs anymore could mean your axle is too long for the frame.
