Frame paint options

I have a 653 Rourke frame which is in need of a repaint as it is going to become my winter steel bike.

Ordinarily I would go straight to Argos as they are local and do a super job, but their prices have gone up to £160 for a frame, which for a straight single plain colour I think is a fair amount.

So, are there cheaper options for paint, Vernon Barker for instance; that would involve the phaff of boxing and sending and then having it sent back and all that, or maybe find a good quality powder coater, there are loads of them around here.

It is a very light frame and I want it to stay that way, but I also want a good degree of protection.

Your thoughts and experiences please.

A quality frame deserves a qualiity paint job so stick with Argos

Ahh yes, the crazy laid back dude.

Good call, thanks.

You’ve been to Reality as well then, Griff’s a top guy but very relaxed
Work appears top draw quality
Should be getting the Rock Lobster back next week so we’ll see

I can never read that name without the B52's immediately springing to mind.

I dropped a frame off there for THM a while ago, and as a (slightly lapsed) custom motorcycle builder, visiting was like walking into Aladdin's Cave.
