Has anyone fitted the Jagwire link cable set to a bike with Shimano STI levers, with exposed cables?
I have the 25th anniversary Dura-Ace edition on my road bike, and am looking for a new gear cable set and would like something really nice. The Jagwire link cable set seems to fit the bill; by all accounts, a very high quality gear cable set, with fantastic aesthetics which will match the bike really well.
I am wondering if anyone has done this, with Shimano STI levers, where the gear cables are exposed, from the lever to the downtube. Obviously, I would like to have the alloy cable link parts showing all the way from the lever to the downtube, but looking at Jagwire's instructions, you seem to have to fit what appears to be 'standard' outer cable at the lever end, with the alloy links showing where the cable appears from the bar tape - obviously, more modern levers are all 'hidden' rather than the exposed design of the older STI units.
So has anyone done this? If so, any pictures would be appreciated
