Hi I used to own an old Raleigh Trent sports, 645746T, and its hub was stamped April 55.
I presently own a Raleigh Lenton sports (in bits), 863249T, and its hub is stamped April 56.
At a guess, I'd say yours is late 1955 ?

Thanks guys for all the help with the lenton,I was told by the seller he thought the bike was mid 50s,I believe the rear wheel has been changed it says 63 on the 3 speed sturmey archer hub.......next job is finding a pair of the steel wheels for it,the ones on it are very rough.thanks again for all the help.
No probs. The wheels are Dunlop 26 x 1.25. If you're planning to return your Lenton back to original type spec, make sure you source the correct alloy 4 speed hub version. The Lenton reverted to the heavier steel 4-speed hub from 1957 onwards (approx.), however up to 1956 it was still the alloy hub!
