Axle Width 1975 BSA (Raleigh)

I have a BSA Javelin from 1975, which I believe is the same as Raleigh's of that period. Any one know what size bottom Bracket axle it uses?

Your frame is 26 threads per inch, the old British cycle was 24 TPI.
The bottom bracket is probably 71mm, standard 68mm but the RH raleigh cup fits inside the shell, the standard cup has a flange.
Probably try Sheldon Brown for a full explanation.

Ten speed axle was a bit longer usually, are you putting something more modern on it or a cottered steel Joby from 1975?
