I just recovered a Townsed Super Sport, anyone know anything about them? It's nothing special, i'd just like a little background.

i have some sympathy with that, but it all works so i fiugured it would do for riding to the shops and not worrying about theft. Also saw it had ITM stem and bars, so not all bad.
 
Not all Townsends are rubbish, just nearly all !
BITD I like mine, tough old bike.
Keep it as a Pub/shops bike, only a non discerning drunk would steal :D
 
I had a Townsend MTB for my 16th birthday in '91, it was alright, in fact it still is - my dad uses it now. It's also got mid range shimano stuff on it that is still going strong.
