My Rourke has (bar the front mech) a full Shimano 1056 groupset, much of it dunked in the same fetching shade of pinkish.
Last night I was doing some tinkering, swapping handlebars and stems to get more period/brand correct combinations, and as I was re-taping the Rourke, I noticed the 1056 STIs are actually 1055 STIs. Which shouldn't exist?
Conveniently, the lettering on the hubs has also faded so that it is difficult to make out the last number (I just always assumed it was a 6, but it could just as easily be a 5). The brakes and rear mech definitely say 6.
Is this normal? Did someone get confused in the Shimano factory? Maybe I have a rare and precious prototype? (as if...)
Cheers
