Help identifying lugged frame

Hi Guys,

I've inherited this lugged steel frame & would like some help identifying it.

RGF stamping on the bb
5-979 stamped on non drive side rear drop out
Unfortunately it's been painted in a metallic gun metal colour

It also has 5979 stamped on the fork steerer.

It's the make of the bracket shell which was used by a multitude of builders. No way of identifying the frame make from it, sorry.

With the brackets for a bottom bracket cable roller, grease port and the style of rear dropouts I would hazard a guess at a build date of late 40's/early 50's? Possibly more of a 'mass produced' frame rather than an artisan builder?
