Frame worth saving?

I have had this for 20-25 years. I was a after a bike at the time and a mate pointed me to one he had abandoned in a hen house some 5 years previous. I think its a raleigh and I also think it might be a decent frame. Can you gurus cast your expert eyes and offer some opinion

Apologies for the 90s hi-viz paint job - I knew no better at the time..

Re:

Im not a guru but it looks a fairly decent frame - lugged and with cast dropouts. No braze-ons for the shifters makes me think it's early 70's-ish. What did you want to know about? The components are pretty low level - which would give you an idea of the bike's quality level if original to the bike.

Hi Thanks

It looks similar to similar Raleigh clubmans I've seen. Having known the PO my guess would have been early 80's but I could be wrong. I guess I'm also asking if it could be 531 which I understand makes it more desirable.. Curiously the PO is now back into his bikes so I'm thinking he might want/deserve it back !

Cheers

James

From the limited pics you posted I would think 531 is a possibility - the cast dropouts are a good sign. An 80's frame I would think would have braze-ons for shifters, IME it's the 70's frames often had clamp-on shifters. Again. I'm not an expert. Looks like a nice frame though, I'd ride it regardless of whether I liked the paint job or not. :)
