I've got Shimano Cantis on my 1987 531ST Touristique frame and forks.
They seem a bit underpowered on downhills in comparison to my 10 year newer XT V brakes on the K2 MTB... despite some newish pads.
Is there any reason not to adopt V brakes on the road frame, and will they fit accepting I have to fiddle with the routing?
Could I still use my Aero 500EX levers on drop bars, (or equivalent)?
