Hi,

I have a some 126mm OLD wheels which I wanted to use on a new build, the frame is 130mm OLD, I don't want to force the frame the 4mm difference.

My questions are
1. Is it possible to just space out the wheels with 2x2mm spacers ?
2. If so could I use a 9 speed freewheel on the back ?

Or is it easier to get different wheels ?

Depends a fair bit on what the hubs are.

1) Yes. Replace original axle with a longer one.
2) Probably yes; I'm saying this only because Shimano 8 speed cassettes and 9 speed cassettes
will work on the same freehub body.

You have an option to use say a 1mm + 3mm spacer on the DS and re-dish the wheel if for some reason
the hub flanges are too far apart.

My advice would be not to buy a cheapo new axle; but a quality steel or Cro-Mo one.
