Can anyone tell me anything about Fausto Coppi vintage bikes? My brother in law has seen one for sale and asked me if they are a bike worth having or not.

As I know nothing about them I thought I would consult the forum...

Re:

If it's steel it depends on the age. The 60s and 70s Coppi's were made by Fiorelli in Italy - classy frames and you could get the full range of pantographed components. The rights to the Coppi name were later licensed to another company, Maschiagi, where the better steel frames were hand build by the same builder as Ciocc. Classy bikes again - ridden professionally by Team Polti e.g. Richard Virenque. The brand also turns out a load of cheap bikes that are not to be confused.
