90s style rims?

My rourke is in need of some new rims. It is a 70s frame with 90s bits, so I'm thinking of going down the 90s route for practicality and looks. It currently has an unbranded red rear rim that is about 35mm deep with a steep triangular profile, and a newer red cxp33 on the front. Colour doesn't bother me too much, but would anyone still make an aluminium rim of that depth (35ish) that I could replace them with?
Otherwise, I'm looking at either the new cxp33 (now called cxp pro) or at the open pro - the cxp keeps the aero-ness of the 35mm rim, but isn't as deep, and the open pro is lighter, but plain box section - a more classic look.
Any other ideas? And which is better out of the cxp33 and the open pro?
I am a bit of a mavic fan, but I would look at other brands happily, particularly if it is cheaper. this bike is my winter bike, so it sees lots of real world usage - I need half decent braking and sturdiness.

Thanks!

Ambrosio Balance?
They still make it in black although I hold out a hope of finding a yellow one to match my orphan rear wheel...

I saw some red Balances on ebay in France this week.
