Mavic 501 Hubs - Service

I've ended up with a newly built wheelset - 501 hubs / wolber profil 20 rims - lovely BUT wrong bloody axle length - 127 - need 130. My fault, didn't bother to check before I dropped them off at the LBS to be built. So, expensive oversight remedy - new pair of hubs bought, swap the axle over. Easy. Nope.

Just how do you remove the 'clip' 500102 on the service sheet as per this link? http://www.tech-mavic.com/tech-mavic/uk ... ux/501.pdf

Jewels screwdriver

Should look similar to the picture below, you insert the screwdriver blade into one of the recessed areas and carefully twist the blade and try and prise the clip upwards and off

Make sure it doesn't ping away into oblivion

Re:

Cheers 47p2 - managed to get them off with a jewellers screwdriver. remarkably simple engineering on these hubs. Now got 8 sprockets on the rear and not fouling the seat-stay ;)
