As it turns out my new land lady was a keen cyclist how ever an accident last year on her bike resulted in a broken hip and loss of confidence riding. She wanted to get back on a her bike and was looking at turbo trainers. She mentioned that her bike needed looking at so I obliged and picked it up and sorted it out. Whilst at her house I notice a bike wheel hanging up in a cubby hole it was her old bike after a chat we negotiated a deal for the turbo trainer and repairs for the old bike.

Ms bling is not a cyclist however she used to ride to her horse riding lessons on a Viking superstar which she bought new from the shop with help from her parents. This was not her first bike of choice as funds where tight. last night we were chatting and looking at her first choice of bike on ebay but being on a saving regime decided now was not a good time to buy hey ho.

Well I came home with her favourite wish I could of had one of them bikes today and brought tears of joy to her eyes it made me quite emotional as well.

This is that bike

The plan for the Dawes is to give it a light restoration polish up and new cables keeping everything original as it is today.

BTW my land lady is 75 much respect to her

Re:

I quite like these mixte frames and was thinking of doing a retro mod on one for Mrs LDP. Looking forward to seeing this one finished :D

Did a bit of cleaning on this last night
had to use some diesel to clean the worst of it off before degreasing and then g3 cutting compound
to get it up to something better looking

Diesel came in handy for this lot too after degreasing its out with the metal polish

looking better

components cleaning up quite nicely

one down one to go

That's coming up really nice.
Very nicely done, amazing what a bit of TLC can do.
Keep the updates coming.
