Decided to spend on my keeper tourer as I've had to sell a couple.

I remember seeing some lovely refurb paint jobs with barber pole seat tubes etc. Thinking either deep blue/cream or emerald green/cream. Haven't had a green one.

But who was it Midlands area Mercian?

Please post any examples

Not barber pole as such, but Mercian's more traditional design. If you do go to Mercian in person expect to spend a long time staring at bikes & frames. It's a cracking little shop. http://www.merciancycles.co.uk/frames/57/frame-builder

Here's my Mercian - fantastic apart from the glaring error with the 6th band being covered by the band-on derailleur :facepalm: 6 bands is now a special order I believe and it's an expensive job regardless of 'add-ons'.

indeed - quite a major oversight given that each band is an extra :facepalm:
