Stuck freewheel

Hi guys

I have a 6 speed freewheel with 15-23 which is gonna kill on the peak district hills. It is a 2 prong type but it will not come off. I have had breaker bars, soaked it but no luck.
I'm not overly fussed about keeping the freewheel and am happy to destroy it if needs be, but how.

Hub is a campag record so wanted to keep that undamaged.

Can the arrowed part be removed. It doesn't seem to want to move.

If memory serves the splined ring is the more modern version of the 2 hole coverplate...

this should enable the outer part of the freewheel to be removed leaving the body on the hub. Use a vice to hold the body and remove. The freewheel is trashed but should come off............

Re:

Sorted now. Thanks for help Shaun. It was a left hand thread so I was trying to tap it round the wrong way. Even inner hub part came of with little damage.

New 14-28 freewheel on order already.

Just curious, what make of freewheel have you gone for?

Glad it came off by the way :)

Re:

I've ordered a shimano mf-tz20. Not the greatest looking thing but will allow me to at least enjoy the bike and spend less time walking up hills than riding them.

28 cog on the rear should help :). I guess your rear mech can take it. I assume you have ordered a new chain as well.

Quite hilly the Peak District :D
