Shimano 6400 compatibility

Thanks very much for the advice (& the offer of a swap.....but don't actually one yet !)
Looking to build up a Raleigh Team Panasonic 531c.
Have started to get some nos 6400 bits together (hubs, shifters, BB) as was really looking for 7spd dt indexed, but now thinking that the shiny bits of the 600 group are going to look much nicer on this frame....if they are compatible with what I already have.
i.e. rear mech with 7spd hub & shifters.
Also 600 crank on a 6400 BB (113mm) ??
Or....should I just carry on with the 6400 stuff as it probably going to work better together?
AAAGH.....getting myself a bit tied up in knots with this one......Help !
