skewer problems . . .

I have just finished building my retro Peugeot bike and have some barnd new Roval Fusee wheels - which are excellent.

The problem that I am having (and have never had before) is that the rear wheel keeps slipping position in the dropouts when I pedal hard!!!!

It seems that the QR skewers ( the roval originals) are not gripping tightly enough - no matter how hard I tighten them.

I have looked at the skewers carefully and it seems that the outer bolt has a smoother ridge on the inside of it that other skewers I have - could it be that its just slipping because of lack of grip???

Suggestions please - of fixes or strong alternatives.

ok . . .

on my other bike I have a set of Camg-hubbed wheels and put them into the bike I am having problems with - did 10 miles of hill and not a squeak!

Perfect.

Guess the Roval's will have to go on bike #2 for now.

The campag skewers just seem to grip in a more meaty fashion - so I have found myself some campag skewers to try with the Rovals - although having inspected them the inner-grippy washer thingy doesnt look up to much - to smooth IMHO - hence the slippage.

BTW the Peugeot has 126mm spacing and is made from 753 so cant be cold set.

cheers guys - Khushy
