SPD-SL´s use same bolt pattern as Look.

But there is some shoes where they have both.

Yes and no.

Info in 2nd post is correct.

There are plenty of shoes that are compatible with both, which predate SPD-L. Shimano started making shoes around 2000 that were compatible with SPD,SPD-R AND Look/SPD-L

Hmmm.

Shoes are SH-R072 from around 1999.
I did a search and they seem to be Look compatible.

Maybe I'll get Look pedals. I've only ever had Shimano off road types though, is the release much different?
