Any ideas how to remove this ancient transfer??

i've got a nice new transfer to fit to my old TvT but the one that's on it is (cue bad french accent) "waffer theen" and looks like it'll pick off with great reluctance! it looks like a proper old school ultra thin transfer and barely has an edge to it.

any ideas how to remove it without starting something i wished i hadn't?!

Thats not an easy one! Its probably a waterslide or varnish fix decal, either way it will have a varnich finish on top. I'd try a cotton bud with nail varnish remover. It will take a while but should start to soften and remove the varnish, the decal should break up once you've gone through the varnish. You would have to be careful not to damage any of the paint lacquer, it could look a bit dull underneath the decal so it may show where the decal was. T.cut might help shine it up.
