Help with REW Reynolds.

Hi.
Living in Northampton I thought I should own a REW Reynolds as they were built only a couple of miles away from my house.
After buying a few components from a local elderly gentleman he said that he had a small REW Reynolds frame and forks and as he can not ride anymore he would sell it along with a few other parts.
It's too small for me so I'll build if for the missus.
After some investigating to choose a colour scheme I have realised that I can't find another frame anything like it.
I am 100% sure it is what he said it is because he knows his stuff and has had it for years.
He has painted it but it is a nice blue / turquoise underneath.
Anyway, here are some photos of the lugs and it's strange BB cable rollers. It also has Campag dropouts.

Re:

Looks about 1960 or just before. 7758 could mean 1958??
Most British frames used domed and slotted stays, these are in the Italian style, Perhaps the rear ends were added a little later.

Thanks Keith.
I thought maybe 1958.
Let's see if anyone else can shed any light on it.
I wish I'd asked more about it now. Hopefully he will bring me more stuff so I can ask him.

hi matt

Nice lugs on that frame for sure , nothing like i have seen on any of the 4 R.E.W Reynolds i have owned over the years . And different frame number format as mine have all been 4 digits in one row .

see the first link for my latest ones

viewtopic.php?f=47&t=327298

and 2nd link is another post similar to yours

viewtopic.php?f=23&t=223967&hilit=+REW

from what i can make out they exsisted from around the 50's to early/mid 80's but sketchy

martin

Thanks Martin.
I did come across yours when I was searching earlier. They are very nice.
I can't wait to get this painted and built.
If the old boy wasn't so knowledgable about the REW Reynolds shop and all the people he knew I would have thought he was wrong and it was made by another builder.

i am not saying he was wrong

if and when he re appears you will have to question him and make notes

i have another one due soon so will see what frame number that has and will advise you

Just googled flying scot and agree it does look very much the same.
It also has a curved brake brace thingy.
