Selbach: what kind of brakes ?

Does anyone know what kind of brakes a 1930' Selbach road bike would have. Pictures Ive seen suggest quite basic looking single pivot caliper brakes....

Re:

VCC have a 1926 Brown Bros catalogue.
In 1930 fixed wheel "racers" were being shown with no brakes, some sports bikes had rear brake only. The 2 brakes law was mid 1930s I think.

By 1939 Brown Bros show a number of continental brakes.

Re:

Just looked at 30s Selbach catalogues and they used their own brand or used Pellister or constrictor cantilever brakes. National bicycle museum catalogues are really helpful.

Thanks - need to do some research and track something like that down - think I'll try to avoid resilion.

Re:

Do you know what year Selbach you have? Got some resilion brakes for projects and they were used from 1932 the best at the time?

I have to say that I've no idea which one it is - apart from the remains of selbach decals there's no indication. Measuring the tubes to see if they taper might be a start....I've never had anyting this old and no nothing about it yet. I'm keen to restore it though.
