Amazed it the cost /prices asked for some parts
£75.00 for A Binda toe straps
Rear mechs Simplex 543 £600 +
Outer cable Coloured £19.00.

When is the bubble going to pop ? as it did with old motor cycles .

Sell a whole bike or break it for its bits ?

Sunday moan over

Re:

The old adage supply and demand!
its a shame that you get more for your money by buying a whole bike and splitting
which obviously means more bikes bought to strip for bits.

There are a lot of chancers out there. Some of the priced asked are clearly ludicrous.

Re:

Many of the EBay buy it now prices are stupid and never sell.

The items listed for auction sell for what they are worth.

I have bought quite a bit of 50th anniversary parts over the years so know the prices and often see the same items listed with inflated prices, they never sell and I just ignore them.

Oddly though occasionally auctions go nuts with items going for well over what those items would typically go for ... I guess you sometimes get two nupties bidding each other up, and occasionally the odd bargain.

My best buys have been people listing with a too low buy it now price.

Blumels seems to be a favourite of one seller, ranging from £79 to £119.

which ultimately only inflates the market further as people buy the frames and look to rebuild to catalogue

If you don't mind me asking, where do you get them from bagpuss?
I'm looking to get some for my Ellis Briggs rebuild.

Mark.
