Hi everyone
I found you through the CTC forum.
I ride a 97 Specialized Allez, a 2012 steel Salsa Vaya tourer and an old rigid steel Al Carter Black Panther mtb.
Having found out about the Eroica rides, the winter project is building up an old Orbit 531 race bike to enter next year.

cheers
Tony (in Cornwall)

Welcome, Tony! Some pictures of that Orbit would be most welcome. We're very much visually oriented.

BTW, which Eroica? Some many to choose from these days.

Re:

hi, i see you have a salsa.i saw a la raza on ebay and i remembered it had wicked reviews back
in the 90/s.[made in petaluma ?]
good luck with the orbit build.

Re: Orbit rebuild for Eroica

Thanks for the replies to my intro post.
Regards the Orbit;
I bought it as a frame and forks
It's an America in metallic blue, I'm guessing early 1990's. I'm getting it grit blasted and powder coated in Bianchi Celeste green.
I have most of a Shimano Arabesque group set for it and Mavic MA40 wheels, so I think it should meet the rules for the Eroica.
I'll put a picture up when it's done.
Tony

Well, the build year cut-off for L'Eroica is 1987, so an early nineties bike is not eligible. But if it looks old enough and you build it with early eighties parts, including toe clips and straps, DT shifters and non-aero brake levers, you might be able to sneak it in. You'll have to lie, though ...
