Raleigh 600 EX

Dirt Disciple
Hi,

I've recently purchased a Raleigh frame made from Reynolds 531c tubing. It is branded predominantly as Shimano with large logos on the down tube and smaller 600EX stickers on the chain stays. It also has the Raleigh TI logo at the base of the seat tube near the bottom bracket shell.

Serial no: W S 3000168. I think that places it from 1983 and possibly made in Worksop or Nottingham.

I've not been able to track down any more information about the frame and wondered if anyone had any knowledge/details about it?

Many thanks,

Ben

Looks like a Competition GS from memory but it's not what it used to be (my memory that is)........

It would have had 531 tubing...

Forks look the same (half chromed)

Also noticed there are no braze on's for the gear levers..

Really not sure now!

Re:

Would the type of drop outs, number of bottle cage mounts etc or any other general information help identify it?!

Thanks

I was starting to think it had been a frame replacement under warranty, and 'normally' this means a decal replaces the metal badge.

Got me stumped

I looks like my 1985 Raleigh Competition (apart from the forks and rear mudguard eyes...
