I'm after some new wheels for my Cannondale Six13 as I'm riding the Etape this year and am trying to try some weight for the hills.

Currently its running Mavic Aksium wheels which are not bad but not as light as they could be.

Any recommendations for something to replace them with that is lightweight, aero and strong (although I'm only 76kg so monster strong not needed)?

So far I've been looking at Mavic Krysium SL Premiums and the new Dura-ace clincher wheels.

Wheels

I've always had my wheels handbuilt with Mavic open pro cd rims laced onto Shimano 105 or Ultegra hubs and they've stood me well over several etapes and rough Peak district roads. Though not always the lightest wheel sets they are usually very strong and the open pro rim is a nice shape for climbing combining stiffness and light weight.

Just make sure you find a good wheel builder.

Campagnolo proton wheels used to be good value light and strong though the front was often radially spoked which i've found to be quite week.

Good luck,

Stuart
