Nope, it's not for weight weenies. :) I've heard the frame weighs around 2.7kg. I guess it takes a lot of die-cast magnesium to match the strength of traditional round tubes.

I did make it, but I turned up late, did the 50miler and then had to dash straight home afterwards. There were quite a few stares and a couple of people asked about the bike, which is always nice.

Regarding lightness, my one weighs about 10.9kgs and it was a lot more before the component/wheel upgrade. A few years ago, one of my clubmates was confused with the diffo between magnesium and sodium .... we dragged the wind-up out for ages by convincing him that because of it's propeties, if the paint were scratched and it started raining, this frame could have burst into flames! :wink: :D :lol:
