Talking Italian

Just to be clear .... its Campagnolo if you want to be formal or Campag if you like to talk or type quickly.

Its not Campy unless you enjoy riding a no-brakes, flat bar fixie (there's another dodgy word) and consider yourself a cycling hipster

Neither is it Campa ... a name used by some of our European friends that looks like you left it when your keyboard became disconnected.

Ah, feel better now. Is it obvious I've just come back from the pub?
Those growing up with me will know what I mean

If I may add to this...
Am I right in saying Campagnolo is pronounced like, Cam-pan-yolo not Cam-pag-nolo?
I hate hearing people sound out the 'g'

Like wise; Cinelli is said like Chinelli, not Sinelli...that one really lights my fuse

Why has the expression gruppo not been mentioned? My friend gets rather annoyed if that term is used.

Pronunciation of Ciocc is 'church' or similar? Am i close?

Van Tuyl is pronounced Van 'Towel' - I was advised by a Dutch lady after i had been saying it wrong for a number of months.

Slightly related; the one that really rags me is derry (and I don't mean anywhere in Norn Iron).
