Looks very nice but I've never been to sure about road bikes made by American MTB companies. They seem to be trying 'to hard' to get onto a bandwagon. Still, I'm sure you like it - and I suppose I wouldn't turn my nose up at it if it came my way!

Can't say to much though, I've got a '99 Giant TCR.

When does a bike actually become 'Retro'? After 10 years?

Gary Klein made road bikes for years before he built his first mtb! Gary (and Sheldon Brown's widow Harriet Fell) built oversized aluminium road bikes while studying at MIT in the early seventies. Even Cannondale had road and touring models before they branched out into mtb.

Whoops!

Hangs head in shame at not knowing (or possibly remembering?) that fact.

Sorry Gary!

EDIT - I knew about Cannondale's history. But there are other MTB makers (eg Kona?) who started making road bikes later?

was probably the same. i got it from ebay when i lived in london at the same time. got it for 150 pounds (the frame).
