Hi Guys,

Just registered for this forum, though I've been lurking about for a while!

So, I've just got this Belgian beauty:

Late 80s/Early 90s Diamant roadie, resprayed recently.

I think these were made in Columbus tubing, but I can't work out if it's Thron, Aelle, Max or whatever. Is there any way of knowing for sure?

Ta!

The only Columbus tubing I can definitely ID is SLX New, as it's spiral-butted on the inside (think rifle barrel). Sorry I can't help beyond that.

it,s clearly not max or EL oversize,so that still leaves plenty.and you also need to remember that tsx also has the same spirals inside as slx.so you are a little closer to knowing what it is :D

Thanks guys. I think mine might be Thron tubing, because that's what most of the others I've Googled are. But some seem to be Aelle. Anyone know how I could determine which?

easiest quick way to check Columbus tubing is to check the seat post size..
Top range tubing - SL - SLX is 27.2mm
Cheap range tubing - Aelle etc is 26.8mm
