What is the best cleaner to remove rubber from wheel rims

Hi there can anybody tell me what is the best cleaner to use on wheel rims to remove worn in rubber and grime?

They are Aluminium rims

I'd use a '0000' grade steel wool, they should come up like new

try gt85 / wd on a rag first

You could try Acetone......

Lighter fluid works well, also do you remember those double eraser you used to get at school pencil one side ink the other the ink side works well.

All sorted good old wd40 and very five wire wool

I use this a lot on my training wheel, that are Alu. It´s a copy of the Mavic one, or maybe the Mavic one is a copy of this?

Just for information - never use acetone on carbon rims as it attacks the resin.
