I've got three road rides all running Campag ergos - one with 9 speed Record, two with 10 speed Centaurs; one carbon levers, one alloy.
Sadly, after what must be 7 (?) years loyal service, the carbon Centaur gave up the ghost last week, when the left hand shift lever sheered off.
I found a pair of Campag Record Ultra 10 speed ergos on Ebay, very tidy nick (by the looks of them if nothing else) and a decent-ish price. I've never fitted Ultra before and, after having a look at them, I notice the right hand/rear mech shifter doesn't seem to have the click/stop ratchet that the Centaur shifter had...it just clicks down and down, then automatically returns back once you take your thumb off the wee tab.
Before I fit them - is this what they are meant to do and, I presume, they hold position according to the tension of the cable or have I been sold a dud pair and I return them?
Any info, very gratefully received.
