Is this what we dream of seeing in a secondhand shop?

My son recently sent me this picture of a bike he saw in a second hand shop.

yes, the price really is what it looks like.

If it sounds too good to be true then it's probably stolen...

There was someone on the forum who bought a high end bike from a similar type shop and had his fingers burned

Caveat Emptor

Buy it. Buy it now. Then check it with the police. Cash Converters and the like can get in serious trouble for handling stolen goods, so if it's nicked, you get your money back, they get a slap on the wrist, and the original owner gets their bike back. Or, you get it for a ton.

That's exactly what I did, I had the cheek to knock them down to £90

The police said there is no record of it being stolen locally.

Here it is after a tidy up and the spare ten quid spent on handlebar tape.

Just a shame it hasn't got period handlebars and stem, but I think it looks a treat :D

Good work sir! I'll give you £120 if you want to make a quick buck. :)

When I was 14 (in 1961) I bought a 1950s Cinelli from a school friend for £7-10-00...£7.50 in todays money.

I really loved that bike and rode hundreds of miles on it, including a heat of the national junior road race championships (unsuccesfully).

But we are foolish when we are young, and when I started motorcycling I gave the Cinelli to my younger brother, he still has it to this day as far as I know, and as he never looks after anything properly, I guess it is in a terrible state by now.

I once asked him to part with it but recieved a very blunt "NO"

So you can imagine my delight when this chance came my way.

Here's a picture of my old one the frame geometry seems identical.
