Having done extensive research online regarding successful / failed shimergo setups I decided to bite the bullet and just go for it. This how it went. I picked up an early 90's Trek 2500 carbon pro with alu lugs and alu threaded fork on ebay but the decals and lacquer were rough. I removed the decals and wet and dried the carbon to remove the old lacquer then added a few pinstripes and resprayed using simonize clear acrylic lacquer from a spray can and sprayed the lugs metallic charcoal. I swopped the forks with a pair of Alan alu threadless that were on a bigger bike which I also sprayed in metallic charcoal.

Despite reading about new campag shifters pulling different amounts of cable in different gears the new veloce powershift levers index perfectly with the tiagra 9 speed rear mech with the cable hubbubed

The finished spec is

Basically it means slightly re routing the gear cable at the rear mech to pull slightly less cable. More info can be seen here http://www.ctc.org.uk/cyclists-library/ ... rgo#Hubbub
