Help how do you identify peddle threads? english/ french?

Ive inherited some peddles but i dont know how to identify what threads are on them,

Can anybody advise help??

French pedals have 14mm x 1.25mm thread English size is 9/16" x 20.

Look for the numbers on the pedal flats/edge where the spanner goes on to fit them.

Some older pedals have the size stamped on the end of the pedal axle.

I know this sounds simplistic but a good test is to attempt to insert them into cranks you know accept English threads, if they don't fit then the likelyhood is that they are French. The difference will be very obvious.
