Carlton frame identification help please.

Hi

I pick up the Carlton frame below recently and wondered if I could use the staggeringly huge and impressive combined knowledge of the Retrobike forum (well, on old bikes anyway) to identify the frame type. The frame number tells me it was built in Workshop in June 1974.

Any ideas?

Could be a Carlton Catalina, they had the full wrap around seat stays.

Spokesmann should be along soon, he'll tell you what it is :)

99% certain to be a raleigh made with seamed tubing, see thread "carlton 10".
Also badged Sun, BSA and various others.

Crespera lugs and 1974? My guess would be a Continental, they chromed it and called it a Cobra.

Looks like a Conti or possibly Corsa.
Does it have a centre pull bridge on rear stays and if you have the forks are they half chromed?
Really sweet riding frame

Cheers guys

Having checked out the suggestions on Google image against my frame it is definately a Carlton Corsa!

Watch this space for the build. :)

I have a sneaky feeling that the Continental and the corsa (plus the circuit and Longfelow) used the same frame............
