Vitus Duralinox white paint ?

I am building one up here with early mavic components and the used frame has many chips in the paint so I'm weighing up options like repainting it white , or another colour ,or even just stripping it back to natural alloy ? does anybody know what type of paint was originally used ? cheers Ian
