Stuck pedal solutions

I've worked in a shop in my younger days and now volunteer at a community shop. I've removed lots of pedals. I have never experienced a pedal as stuck as the chainring side one on my 25 year old Specialized I've owned since new. I tried a penetrating oil soak, heating the crank arm with a torch, whacking the end of the pedal wrench with a rubber mallet to the extent that the pedal wrench was deforming and yes I was turning in the correct direction. Part of the problem was I couldn't get the angle quite right for the best leverage. The final solution was to strap the opposite side crank arm to the chain stay. A old toe clip strap worked well. Then standing on a longer shop quality pedal wrench finally broke it loose. Hope this method works for you too.
