Hmm I was wondering what on earth are these on CRC nowadays.. eight speed brifters? For this price?

Googling the part number gives the Athena 8 speed shifter, so photo on the second link appears to be correct. Fair price for a pair if new given the prices for used ones.

anyway, I've got used to the feel that my steel bike has a bit of a messy set-up. Athena RD-s, mirage brifters, veloce front mech, chorus brakes, shimano 600 (ultegra) crank set...

Don't care as long as it works well.

Just for some reason people like it when a bike is homogenous in setup..
